Are you wearing the right band and cup size?

Some studies have estimated that up to 85% of women are wearing the wrong bra size, and 60% don't know what there bra size is.  Wearing the wrong band or cup size is not only uncomfortable it can lead to back pain, headaches, breast pain and rashes.   Signs that your band size is to big are :

  1. The bra moves around you body easily and tends to hike up your back.  Your bra band should be horizontal to the floor and fit around the body snugly.
  2. If your band is to loose your straps tend to fall off your shoulders.  Pulling up on your shoulder straps should cause the bra to tighten around your back.  If it lifts up easily the band is to large.
  3. If you can fasten the bra in the front and slide it into position comfortably again the band may be to loose.
  4. You feel your straps digging in could also be a sign your band is to big.  Your straps should only support about 10% of the weight.
  5. If your fist fits loosely under you back strap.

Signs you are wearing the wrong cup size are:

  1. There is wrinkling at the tip, bra may be to small.
  2. There is wrinkling in the cup , the bra may be to big.
  3. If you are overflowing your bra.  No amount of breast tissue should be spilling out.
  4. If the bras underwires do not lie flat against the sternum or are poking you, the bra may be to small.

Many bra fitting experts believe you should re-evaluate you fit particularly if you have gained or lost weight, or have had a baby.
